These Handmade Journals are something a little bit special! Each Journal is meticulously sewn by hand using a coptic binding. Then crafted together using either my own artwork or specially picked papers from various companies which are choosen due to suiting the look/theme of the journal. Also, some are made using materials for a different look in the finish. All journals are made individually so will differ from each other slightly. Paper used is high quality and weight of 170gsm, clean white with dot grid printed within the pages. This paper can take a lot of different mediums from fineliners even through to watercolour paint - please keep in mind this is not a watercolour paper so will not take a lot of wet techniques as will buckle as most non watercolour does, but can use watercolour whilst being mindful on amount of water used. One of images shown is a swatch sheet to show how the paper copes with different mediums.
Some journals come with a matching bookmark / gift tag / ephemera piece with quote on so please check in the photographs which one has what included as these differ from item to item. Also, some  contain internal pockets / hessian string bookmark which would be attached to the journal.
There are 15 signatures in this journal (a signature is a gathering of multiple sheets to make multiple pages which are then bound together in a book) which are hand sewn using mainly a coptic stitch. Each signature has four sheets of A4 paper making 8 pages or 16 sides to write or decorate on. This makes 120 pages or a whopping 238-240 sides of paper to fill your little journalling heart to the brim!(some sides are used in construction on first and last pages).
Book is A5 in size - this is an approx after trimming has taken place, will fall slightly less than A5 size after trimming but space lost is kept to a minimum.
This is a physical product and please keep in mind these books are hand crafted, no two will be identical due to nature of product not being manufactured which adds to the charm of the finished item. I love to keep things original and not manufactured where I can as I feel it adds to how special my items can be as a gift to someone or to yourself as a treta (come on we know you deserve it. 
 
This item will be shipped with packaging to best protect what is sent out. Packaging inside the box/envelope will be either tissue, glassine bags, vellum or a mixture dependant on full order. However, I am as a small business trying to come up with more eco-friendly packaging where I can so I can truly say I am a cello free business.
